Several years ago, Rockwell International decided to get into the heavy duty transmission business. They were getting ready to tape their first introduction video. As a warm up, the professional narrator began what has become a legend within the industry. He’s just making it up.

I sincerely doubt that he’s making it up. There are several cuts in the piece, meaning it was scripted and he’s simply performing a joke video for the Christmas tape or whatever.
Because his left hand starts below the table, my guess is that he is using an Ear Prompter, which he starts playing at the beginning of the take.
He did a great job with it, to be sure, but it’s anything BUT off the cuff.
